Your breakfast beer has arrived.⠀ ⠀ Releases on draft and in 2-pack cans to-go at noon tomorrow (7.12). Such is the case with all the wonderful humans at both and Beyond always having a great time with their crews, we also share similar brewing philosophies, as evidenced by the fact that coffee maple stouts are among our most popular brews: Imperial Smells Like Bean Spirit by Mikerphone, Double Stack by Great Notion, and our Coffee Maple Achromatic.⠀ ⠀ Since everyone was in town for the Invitational, we thought, “Hey, let’s get crazy and make a stout that combines the best elements of all three!” Hence, Breakfast for Three was born (we tried to combine the names, but to no avail…Smells Like Double Stackromatic? Stacking Achro Beans? Oof.)⠀ ⠀ It is exactly what you’d expect: a thick, sticky 10.5% ABV stout packed full of maple syrup and Peruvian coffee roasted locally at Zoe’s. First up, a stout of epic proportions.⠀ ⠀ BREAKFAST FOR THREE⠀ Sometimes, there are people you can’t help but have an undying affinity for. LET THE DAY OF COLLAB BEERS BEGIN! Man-oh-man are we excited about everything coming at ya this week, folks. Despite already considering this as a stellar release, we think a full-bodied version could make Breakfast for Three a much more interesting beer. While we recognize this beer as something for sharing, it is a dessert-style stout that balances well the sweetness with the other aspects of the beer such as bitterness. We have been turned off by ultra-sweet dessert-inspired stouts in the past, but this three-way collaboration treat offers a proper redemption for this class. A similar yet reduced profile lingers after a sip. Sweet flavors meld effortlessly with the mentioned dark tones and manifest in the form of maple syrup, marshmallows, and bready pancakes. The perceived flavors are of prominently dark roast coffee and chocolates. The aroma profile conforms to the breakfast theme: maple syrup, dark roast coffee, and some hints of plum-like esters. īreakfast for Three pours a very dark brown opaque liquid, almost black under dimmer light. The most current version of the guidelines can be found on the BJCP website. This beer is being evaluated as a Mixed-Style Beer (34B ), combining Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer (30A) and Alternative Sugar Beer (31B), with Imperial Stout (20C) as the base style in the context of the 2015 Beer Style Guidelines of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). A product of this gathering is this Imperial Stout brewed with their counterparts from Chigaco and Portland. In 2019, WeldWerks rolled out the red carpet and invited 45 craft breweries to their hometown for the WeldWerks Invitational. Aside from being known for Juicy Bits, which is one of the highly regarded Hazy IPAs in the United States, the Greeley-based brewery is a multi-medal awardee in the prestigious Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. WeldWerks was established in Greeley, Colorado in 2015. WeldWerks, in collaboration with Mikerphone and Great Notion, treated the craft beer fans with Breakfast for Three, a super delectable dessert-inspired Imperial Stout (10.5% ABV) infused with Peruvian coffee beans and maple syrup.
